Introduces the letters A to Z while following the fortunes of an apple pie.
Children will not only learn alphabet, but also verbs, art, history (why letter I is missing), and what we were like back in the days when we had no computers nor hand-held devices.

The rhyme of A APPLE PIE is very ancient and reference is made to it as early as 1671 in one of the writings of John Eachard. In these early versions the letters I and J were not differentiated. The letter J as we know it to-day was the curved initial form of the letter I and was always used before a vowel.

In this delightfully illustrated educational tool, the popular childrens author from years gone by uses full-color pictures to teach young children about the alphabet, with examples that help them learn their ABCs.

Read reviews from our readers:

"Full of old-fashioned goodness--just like apple pie! ;-> I especially love the clothing on the characters--very Jane Austen-esque." -- Kathryn

"As an alphabet book it was interesting because it uses a verb for each letter - unlike just about every other alphabet book that uses nouns. " -- Jack Kirby

"Its not only a way of teaching kids their alphabet and what sounds the letters make, but its not another "A is for apple" "B is for banana" kind of book. It actually tells a story and it is quite funny as well!" -- Michelle Lasser
